Nick A. Deeter
Chairman of the Board, President & CEO

Nick Deeter brings more than 29 years of business leadership and health care industry experience to his role as OrthoPediatrics’ Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer.
As the company’s founder and visionary, he is responsible for setting the strategic direction and long-term growth plans for OrthoPediatrics. In this capacity, he leverages his successful track record of developing and commercializing medical innovations, orthopedic devices and implants for the global health care market.
Mr. Deeter’s distinguished orthopedic and medical device career began at Zimmer, Inc. and includes more than two decades of executive leadership positions for other well-respected medical organizations. Prior to forming OrthoPediatrics, he spent seven years with DePuy Orthopaedics, a Johnson & Johnson company where he was responsible for health care compliance administration, medical affairs and orthogenesis. This included managing surgeon relationships, product engineering, production and marketing of custom implants and limb preservation products. Mr. Deeter also served as founder, Chairman, President and CEO of ViAtro, Corp., a medical device company specializing in infection control products; Vice President of University Technology Inc. at Case Western Reserve University, managing the technology transfer process of more than $100 million dollars per year of medical research; and President of Medical Ventures Ltd., a venture capital firm that initially funded STERIS Corp. Additionally, he managed the orthopedic and respiratory products at Invacare Corporation, the world leader in durable medical equipment.
Mr. Deeter earned an MBA from Case Western University and a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Peter F. Armstrong
Chair, Surgeon Advisory Board

Dr. Peter F. Armstrong has been Chief Medical Officer of Shriners Hospitals since 2000. Prior to his appointment, he was Chief of Staff of Shriners Hospitals for Children Intermountain (Salt Lake City). He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario Medical School in 1972.
Dr. Armstrong is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations, among them: Canadian Orthopaedic Association; American Orthopaedic Association, American Burn Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Physician Executives, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Armstrong completed the Kellogg Management Institute program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Leadership for Physician Executives program at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 50 scientific articles and book chapters, and over 30 scientific abstracts.

Greg Odle
Executive Vice President, General Manager

Greg Odle brings more than 17 years of executive-level orthopedic sales, management and operations experience to his role as OrthoPediatrics Executive Vice President and General Manager. In these capacities, he is responsible for building the company's growing infrastructure, increasing the team of bio-medical professionals, and overseeing product development to ensure OrthoPediatrics executes its strategic business plan. Mr. Odle is also responsible for budgeting, resource allocation and cost control measures to ensure the company’s financial viability.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Odle served in a variety of leadership positions with Smith+Nephew Orthopaedics and was recognized nationally as one of their top managers. He has earned numerous awards for his achievements and grew district revenues by more than 400% during his tenure. He also is an accomplished product development manager, as he helped launch an innovative design for partial knee replacements, called The Journey Deuce™, which was invented by Dr. Lindsey Rolston.
Mr. Odle holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and has completed advanced leadership education and training through The Aji Network’s Business Professional’s Course and Gap International’s Executive Challenge Course.

David Bailey
VP of Sales

As the Vice President of Sales for OrthoPediatrics, David Bailey is responsible for driving new business initiatives and increasing market penetration. This includes cultivating relationships with pediatric orthopedic surgeons, developing partnerships with key distributors and collaborating with OrthoPediatrics' new product development department. In addition to sales strategy and management expertise, Mr. Bailey brings a wealth of hands-on operating room surgical experience and product knowledge to his role at OrthoPediatrics.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Bailey provided sales leadership and consulting to each of Smith+Nephew Orthopaedics’ divisions, including orthopedic reconstruction, trauma, endoscopy and clinical therapies. He also served as sales manager for NoInk Communications, a high growth software company that specializes in medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in sales and sales management from Purdue University. Additionally, he has been recognized throughout his career by employers and peers for his successes.

Gary Barnett
VP of Regulatory and Medical Affairs
|
|
Gary Barnett brings more than 30 years of engineering, manufacturing, and management experience, 19 of which have been in orthopedics, to his role as Vice President of Regulatory & Medical Affairs. Mr. Barnett plays a critical role in the development and commercialization of OrthoPediatrics’ product lines. In this capacity, he is responsible for the company’s overall regulatory affairs strategy and execution related to product/device development, submissions and approvals. This includes developing and maintaining OrthoPediatrics’ regulatory affairs infrastructure, policies and procedures, as well as liaising with regulatory agencies. Mr. Barnett is also responsible for medical affairs which includes managing OrthoPediatrics’ relationships with members of the Surgeon Advisory Board and other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
Prior to joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Barnett worked at DePuy Orthopaedics where he was responsible for developing custom and primary knee products. In this role he redesigned the Limb Preservation System to improve product performance and bridge the gap between revision and limb salvage procedures. Before DePuy, Mr. Barnett held senior management positions at an equipment manufacturer and supply company where he had P&L responsibility, led successful program launches and won product quality awards. Additionally, Mr. Barnett held several progressively responsible positions at Zimmer, Inc., including Knee Product Development Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Director of Operations for trauma products.
Mr. Barnett holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology and an MBA, both from Ball State University.

Greg Downey
VP of Business Development

As OrthoPediatrics’ Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Downey is responsible for guiding the company’s business development strategy, building strategic industry and investor relationships, and generating national and international brand awareness for the company. Mr. Downey provides more than a decade of senior executive management and entrepreneurial experience in the medical device and healthcare information technology industry.
Prior to joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Downey helped European and US-based emerging technology companies enter the U.S. healthcare marketplace through strategic business development and marketing initiatives with several large Fortune 500 companies. In addition, Mr. Downey served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for specialty healthcare software firm, NoInk Communications, where he contributed to the company’s success in orthopedics through large enterprise sales to Smith+Nephew, DePuy and Stryker, among others. Before NoInk, Mr. Downey served in business development capacities for Medibuy, a supply chain healthcare exchange backed by Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia Capital. Mr. Downey also worked at Johnson & Johnson, where he developed strategic sales and marketing initiatives used in the launch of Gynecare, a specialty niche surgical division of Ethicon, Inc.
Mr. Downey received his bachelor’s degree from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University with emphasis in Marketing and Finance. He also serves on the advisory board of Kids' Voice of Indiana, a non-profit legal foundation for at-risk children.

Isaac C. Mensah
Chief Financial Officer

As OrthoPediatrics’ Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Mensah is responsible for the overall financial health and management of the company. This includes setting financial strategies, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance with accounting practices, instituting accounting systems, making investment decisions, and managing organizational assets. Mr. Mensah brings to OrthoPediatrics more than thirty years of accounting, business, healthcare economics, reimbursement, and financial management experience working with organizations in the orthopaedics, health care and finance industries.
Prior to joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Mensah held a variety of divisional and corporate financial leadership positions at DePuy Orthopaedics, DePuy Trauma & Extremities, DePuy AcroMed (Spine), and DePuy Canada & Latin America. Additionally, he served in various accounting and financial management capacities for orthopedic device manufacturer, Zimmer, Inc., the American Hospital Association in Chicago, and the Public Administration Service.
Mr. Mensah earned an MBA in Corporate Finance from DePaul University in Chicago and a BSc degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also holds a CPA from the State of Illinois and earned a certificate in management from the Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University.

Thomas Slagle
VP of Quality and Facilities

|
Thomas Slagle serves as Vice President of Quality and Facilities, as well as Healthcare Compliance Officer for OrthoPediatrics. Mr. Slagle is a seasoned industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in medical device design, engineering and manufacturing.
Before joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Slagle served as the Senior Manager for Quality Engineering at Medtronic Spinal and Biologics, where he led a major modernization of the design and quality systems. His contributions resulted in one of the company's first FDA approvals of a PMA product, Medtronic's cervical disc. Prior to Medtronic, Mr. Slagle spent nearly two decades at DePuy Orthopaedics in senior management capacities overseeing manufacturing engineering, plant management, manufacturing systems deployment, tooling services, distribution management, custom and special products, NDT, metrology, calibration and receiving inspection.
Mr. Slagle earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy and materials science and an MBA, both from Case Western Reserve University. He holds a certification for quality engineering from the American Society for Quality. Mr. Slagle also is a lead quality auditor, a six-sigma black belt candidate, and an expert in lean manufacturing.

Bob von Seggern
VP of Marketing

As OrthoPediatrics’ Vice President of Marketing, Bob von Seggern brings more than 20 years of industry expertise to his role. In this capacity, he is responsible for creating and guiding the company’s long-term new product development roadmap and timeline. This includes analyzing industry trends, assessing market demand and collaborating with company engineers to develop and commercialize new products, capture market share and position OrthoPediatrics as the industry leader in orthopedic devices for children.
Prior to joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. von Seggern worked in several executive and product development roles at Zimmer, Inc. In positions including Global Director of External Research and Global Brand Manager, he developed an effective external research program and led several of the company’s new orthopedic products and instruments from concept to commercialization. At W.L. Gore and Associates, Mr. von Seggern directed the research, development, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and technical support efforts for implantable devices, receiving numerous accolades for his achievements.
Mr. von Seggern earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Engineering, from The Ohio State University. Additionally, he has completed the Medical Marketing Program at UCLA and The Wharton School’s Competitive Business Strategies Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

David Daniels
Director of Design & Technology
|
|
Leading OrthoPediatrics’ product design and technology team, Mr. Daniels leverages his extensive background in medical device engineering and development to design, validate and bring to market innovative new products that directly impact unmet needs in the market.
Mr. Daniels previously served as a Lead Designer at DePuy Orthopaedics, where he was responsible for designing commercially successful products including Summit, Engage, S-ROM instrumentation upgrade, Computer Aided Surgery (CAS) implants/instrumentation, and custom hip implants/instrumentation. Mr. Daniels was not only responsible for the migration of new and existing products to the CAS system, he also authored procedure specifications.
Before his tenure at DePuy, Mr. Daniels was a mechanical design engineer for Delco Electronics. He was responsible for design integration, development of manufacturing fixtures and plastic injection molding tooling, as well as diagnoses of root cause failure mechanisms in production equipment and circuit board manufacturing.
Mr. Daniels graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ivy Tech State College with a degree in Mechanical Design Technology. He has been awarded four U.S. patents, four European patents, and currently has nine patents pending in orthopedics.

Mark Landes
Director of Engineering
|
|
Mark Landes is the Director of Engineering at OrthoPediatrics and oversees all aspects of product development from standard line pediatric implant systems to custom, patient specific implants. With over 20 years of experience in orthopedic design and manufacturing, Mr. Landes is involved in many important initiatives including OrthoPediatrics’ joint reconstruction program.
Prior to joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Landes was most recently employed by DePuy Orthopaedics as a hip development Design Engineer and Senior Engineer in custom implant design. As Senior Engineer, Mr. Landes led his team in standardizing the design for stemmed ankle implants, effectively minimizing both manufacturing costs and lead times. He was also the lead designer for the first custom implants for a captured head acetabular cup system, which eventually evolved into a standard hip product for DePuy. Mr. Landes’ prior work experience includes Manufacturing Engineer at Zimmer and Production Machinist, Engineer Liaison for Othy in Warsaw, Indiana. Mark has several published patents, as well as patents pending in hip and extremity implant designs. He earned his BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa.

Aaron Jimenez
Director of Quality & Microbiology

As an experienced quality assurance manager in the orthopedics industry, Mr. Jimenez serves as OrthoPediatrics’ quality engineer. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and managing the company’s internal quality control processes, validation procedures, risk assessments, method development and statistical data analysis. He ensures that all OrthoPediatrics’ products meet strict industry regulations and stringent surgeon specifications.
Before joining OrthoPediatrics, Mr. Jimenez served as a quality engineer at Medtronic’s Spinal and Biologics Division where he was responsible for risk assessments, inspection criteria, work instruction creation, inspection method selection, GR&R evaluation, process validation review and coordination and vendor management. Prior to his tenure at Medtronic, he spent five years at DePuy as a manufacturing and validation engineer. In this role, he put processes and systems in place to ensure product quality, reduce costs, decrease cycle times, increase productivity, improve safety standards and assure on-time delivery.
Mr. Jimenez earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, graduated from the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program and currently is completing another bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering technology from Excelsior College. Additionally, Mr. Jimenez is a NROTC program graduate, served three years in the U.S. Navy as an officer, and completed ASQ and J&J certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
